Artworks for change that we love
Artists have always been the creative voice for the oppressed and unheard. Here are a few of our favourite visual artworks this month.
1. What is a real Aussie?
Peter Drew is an Australian artist, best known for his political street art.
This year Drew’s crowdfunding campaign was successful in raising over $19,000 to post up 1000 posters across Australia, welcoming migrants and multiculturalism.

2. Oil Kills Peace
Mark Gowing is an Australian graphic artist and designer. His work is award winning and has been exhibited all over the world, from China to Italy. He designed this piece, of an oil covered peace dove to depict power and greed of recent and ongoing wars.

C J Hendry’s most recent artworks were flown over the skies of New York, Chicago and Orlando this week to promote an end to gun violence.
Flicking through CJ Hendry’s instagram, I was sure she was a photographer - but turns out her artworks are all hand drawn! Australian born, Hendry quit university to pursue drawing in New York, and in just two years has since been capturing the attention of everyone from Vogue to Kanye West!
